"I was born and raised in Connecticut. Growing up on a farm and in the woods, the FARM & FOREST truly became home to me. My heaven on earth. The sun warmed my windblown hair and I ran barefoot through the leaves in the shade of the trees that watched over as I played. Nature became apart of me. Her voice sang through the bubbling of my grandparents’ creek and the call of the birds that surrounded me. I climbed colonial stonewalls to pick blueberries and raspberries. I ran wild with our horses; growing as fast as the flowers that grew freely around me.
As I grew, I learned of my love of art. I drew constantly, mostly horses, and as I progressed in my art classes, my subjects and mediums broadened. I was introduced to photography my senior year of high school. I regretted not beginning sooner because of how much I really enjoyed it and had so much more to learn. When I graduated, my dad gifted me a brand new Canon Rebel XTI. I was swept away by it.
Soon after that, I moved to Georgia. Because of my knowledge of cameras, I was introduced to the media world, working for a global ministry called Be in Health, where I was introduced to Jesus, graphic design, and film. I am forever thankful for such a wonderful place and the people there that changed my life forever and taught me so much.
I left there, still young and rearing to go, to chase my other passion of horses for a year. I traveled the east coast as trainer assistant at some of the coolest places I had seen. I continued in my love of photography, shooting at all the locations and horse shows.
Once I was satisfied with being on the road, and I began to settle and change, I got a call from the one who my heart was yearning for. I returned back to Georgia to marry my husband and build a life with him and his two sons. We built our FARM together. Then came our beautiful Jeanne June “Jj”. With her coming, I knew without a shadow of a doubt, I would be home to raise and school her. I began to look at stay-at-home income options and with my interest of graphic design, I reached out to a local business, Radiance Graphic Design, in hopes that they would be willing to take me in as a freelancer. It was through Radiance, I was introduced to digital illustration. This business took me under its wing and helped fine tune the skills I was developing. Due to the founder moving cross-country and pursuing ministry full-time, Radiance Graphic Design has closed its door permanently. I will always be incredibly grateful for my time with them and the business will be missed.
The journey of life is wonderful, with many ups and downs. I continue to learn and strive for better in all that I do: living, loving, and my eye to appreciate the beauty in all of God's creation; seeking to capture it by the best of my ability. I pray my work is a blessing to you and many to come as I continue!" -Chae
